The "Idol Producer" produced by China produced some criticism because it was considered the plagiarism of Mnet's "Produce 101" program concept. The show even featured Lay EXO to Jackson GOT7 as a jury.

"Idol Producer" has even aired its first episode on January 19th. Now Mnet finally open the voice associated with the issue of plagiarism "Produce 101" which attached to the show "Idol Producer". Because the show "Idol Producer" does not attach the official copyright from Mnet whereas the event structure until the concept of production has many similarities with "Produce 101". Mnet also released a statement on their official website in China.

Mnet stressed that they were not involved in the production of "Idol Producer". "The format of Idol Producer's variety program on iQiyi involves many things that are identical to 'Produce 101', including the premise, structure, system, and design appearance," Mnet wrote. "This led to misunderstanding and speculation between two programs in the same industry and the likes of 'Produce 101." After considering Mnter officially said that we did not participate in producing' Idol Producer 'iQiyi or collaborating with the program in any way. "

Mnet also wrote, "At the same time we will consider the unfortunate Mnet intellectual property infringement issue". But until now the production of "Idol Producer" seemed indifferent to the allegations of plagiarism issues. Look forward to the response from Mnet and "Idol Producer" China yes.
